Profile Visibility
This option helps make your profile invisible, so new users can’t see your profile.
Here’s how to change your Profile Visibility Settings:
- Log into your account.
- Access the drop-down menu by clicking on the arrow beside your profile picture.
- Select the “Data & Settings” option.
- Turn the green slider off under the “Profile Visibility” section to make your profile invisible.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll see a notification pinned onto your home screen stating that your profile is currently invisible.
Visitors
This feature prevents others from seeing when you’ve visited their profile. Although, keep in mind that if you turn off Visitors, you also won’t be able to see who has visited your profile.
Here’s how you turn off Visitors:
- Log into your profile.
- Access the drop-down menu by clicking on the arrow beside your profile picture.
- Select the “Data & Settings” option.
- Turn the green slider off under the “Visitors” section to prevent people from seeing when you’ve viewed their profile.
Online Right Now
This feature shows users when you’re online on your eharmony account. By turning this option off, you appear more inactive.
Here’s how to change your online appearance to offline:
- Log into your profile.
- Access the drop-down menu by clicking on the arrow beside your profile picture.
- Select the “Data & Settings” option.
- Turn the green slider off under the “Online Right Now” section, to appear offline on your eharmony account.
How Do I Turn eharmony Matching On And Off?
If you want to take a break from matching with others, the best way to do so is to turn off the visibility status of your profile.
It’s simple, just follow these steps:
- Once you’ve logged in, open up the drop-down menu by clicking on the arrow beside your profile picture.
- Select the “Data & Settings” option.
- Under the “Profile Status” section, just turn off the green slider.
You’ll see a notification pinned onto your home screen stating that your profile is currently invisible.
Remember, this is temporary. So, if you decide to be active again on your eharmony account you can simply turn the green slider on to make your profile visible again.
How Do I Delete My eharmony Account?
Alternatively, if you wish to permanently leave eharmony, I suggest deleting your account rather than temporarily hiding it.
However, before you do this, make sure you’re absolutely sure of your decision because once you’ve deleted your account there’s no way of accessing your messages or your matchings.
Moreover, you cannot restore your profile either.
If you’re a hundred percent sure of your decision, follow these steps to permanently delete your account:
- Once you’ve logged in, access the drop-down menu through the arrow beside your profile picture.
- Select the “Data & Settings” option.
- Under the “Profile Status” section, click on the “To permanently delete your profile, click here”.
- You’ll be redirected to a different page that will ask for your login information to delete your account.
If you’re in the middle of an eharmony paid subscription you’re required to contact customer service before deleting your account.
In addition, to ensure all the information from your account has been deleted you need to send an email to “deletemyinfo@eharmony.com” with the subject “Delete My Account Information”.
In the email, ask eharmony to permanently delete all the personal information from your account.
